IN THE MIST OF THE MOORS

Being alone on the moors is scary, as the rain clouds settle in, it makes you realize your place in nature

I know I posted "There Be Dragons" but I changed my mind. I decided to go with the Mist In the Moors Theme. Think of England in the days of Emily Brontë and Wuthering Heights and create your own dark, mist-filled moors with what you would find in your dark imagination. I have posted a page of free images for you to use. Transport yourself back in time and have fun this week walking the Moors. Cautionary note: be careful what you see in the mist!!

Also, this week I will try to update our Spooky Artistry Showcase!!

Here are my creations when I walked in the Mist of the Moors!
I had known loneliness before, an emptiness on the Moor, but I had never been a nothing, a nothing floating on a nothing, known by nothing, lonelier and colder than the space between the stars. It was more frightening than being dead.

It is a creature, luminous, ghastly, and spectral. All that tells the same story of this dreadful apparition. I assure you there is a reign of terror in the district, and there are none, not even a hardy man who will cross the moor at night.

Then away out in the woods, I heard that kind of a sound that a ghost makes when it wants to tell about something that is on its mind but can't make itself understood and so it can't rest easy in its grave and has to go about that way every night grieving.
As you value your life and your reason...
KEEP AWAY FROM THE MOORS!!

The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees, the road was a ribbon of moonlight over the bleak Moors, and the Highwayman came walking, walking, walking, up to the Olde Inn door.

How does one work up a little madness? Perhaps I should go wandering on lonely Moors and barren shores. That is always a popular place for lunatics in English novels and plays. Perhaps wild England will make me mad.

FANCIFUL REGAL RENAISSANCE

Every little girl dreams of being a Princess. She reads all of the fairy tales of young maidens in distress, fiery dragons, castles with a drawbridge, and knights in shining armor coming to the rescue. The age of Romance and Chivalry. The Enchanted Forest where she would first meet her courageous Prince, sitting astride a gallant white horse.

Your challenge this week is to recreate and capture that magical, mystical time in your artwork. Think of King Arthur and Guinevere. Excaliber. The Lady of Shalott.

I have posted a page of Renaissance Images for you to use for the challenge!

And think of yourself as a Princess!!!

Yes, go ahead...we can all be a princess, not for one day, but for every day!

BLOOD MOON

On Friday, March 14th, we will witness a total Lunar Eclipse, a Blood Moon. At 2:30 am, EST, the Blood Moon will be at its peak so wherever you are at that time, if you are awake, you will see the moon turn blood-red in all its glory.

A Blood Moon is a captivating celestial event that occurs when the Earth casts its shadow on the moon, causing it to take on a reddish hue. The alignment of the Earth, Moon, and the Sun creates a very powerful energy portal, opening the door to inner reflection and spiritual awakening.

The mystical Blood Moon invites us to explore the inner depths of our soul and to embrace the profound mysteries of the universe. Many see this eclipse as an opportunity for inner reflection and personal growth. As the moon casts its ethereal glow, it creates an atmosphere that is conducive to introspection and self-discovery. As we reflect upon our lives and make the connection with the Divine Force, we are reminded that there is something out there much bigger and more omnipotent than ourselves!

Astrologically, a Blood Moon image is of superstition and doomsday warnings but really there is nothing to fear. The energy of this Blood Moon brings a powerful significance for great change.  It's timing in March, astrologically speaking, will mean to de-clutter your life physically and emotionally.

Full moons are all about endings and beginnings, so consider this transit to get rid of the things in your life that are not working and embrace the things that are working. Know what to let go of and what to keep!

So, what will you be meditating upon during the Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse? What symbolism are you reminded of when you think of a Blood Moon? What does this Blood Moon signify to you? Incorporate those thoughts in your artwork for the challenge this week! Bring out the moon's allure and energy in all of its mystical, celestial wonder!

I can't wait to see what you will create!

WORST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER

Remember when you were young and hated to get clothes for Christmas? You would get a Christmas present out from underneath the tree and it would be wrapped so beautifully with bright paper and lots of shiny ribbon, and you could not wait to unwrap it.  You just knew it had to be that special toy you wanted all year!

You would tear into the paper and open the box and see that it was not the toy you so desired but something else...clothes!! You would try not to act disappointed but where was the toy you wanted so badly???

I could get clothes anytime of the year...it was Christmas!!! I wanted toys...not clothes!! I guess that was bad of me seeing as this was the 60's and there were so many starving children in Cambodia that had no clothes, and one had to be thankful for what they were given or so I tried to think that way, but socks???

So Socks was always my "Worst Christmas Present Ever"!! I always got them every year ...no matter what...socks! The irony of it is that I am much, much older now and want socks for Christmas!! Go figure!!

Now it is your turn to create a art piece depicting your "Worst Christmas Present Ever"!

I cannot wait to see what you will come up with!!

Here are my

"Worst Christmas present Ever"

Creations!
